Delete your account

How to delete it

1. Open Spendly: the Android app, or spendly-wallet.vercel.app/login in any browser. Sign in.
2. Go to Profile and scroll to the bottom.
3. Tap “Delete my account”. Spendly lists exactly what will be erased.
4. Confirm: enter your password, or, if you sign in with Google, type DELETE.

Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. If you can no longer sign in, reset your password from the sign-in screen first, or email support@spendlymoney.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you.

What is erased, immediately and permanently

• Your profile: name, email, phone number and password.
• Every bank account, cash wallet and credit card, and every transaction.
• Budgets, bills, goals, loans, EMIs, investments, SIPs and your watchlist.
• Connected Gmail inboxes and their access tokens.
• Registered phones for notifications, and the records of reminders sent.
• Your feedback and any other record linked to your account.

There is no recovery window and no copy is kept. After deleting everything linked to you, Spendly checks every part of the database again for anything still carrying your account’s id and removes it, apart from the security log described below.

What stays until it expires

The security log: the record of sign-ins, password resets, exports and this deletion. Each entry holds the account’s id, what happened, the time, a shortened IP address and the browser type. It has no name, email or financial data, and once the account is gone the id no longer leads to anyone. The log cannot be edited by anyone, which is what makes it useful for investigating misuse and for showing that a deletion was carried out. Every entry expires automatically two years after it was written.

Keep a copy first?

Before deleting, you can download your transactions and portfolio as CSV or Excel from Reports.
